Off The Stage: with Amiel Cortes, BJ Pangilinan, Rudolf Karl Candelaria, Trestan Pasya, Samantha Solidum, Ezekiel Sullano, Nikey Balonga

Another weekend is here to give yourselves a break from all the daily grind because… adulting! Anyway, we really do hope that you guys had a blast making your week productive (and enjoyable!) because that’s what really matters. As long as you love what you’re doing, padayon! And here at Indie Cebu, we’re glad to know that you guys are supporting this passion project because what we’re doing is something we hope is contributing to the wider scope that is the local music scene in Cebu, to say the least.

Alright! So now we are down to the third round of artists who gave their time and effort in answering questions from the staff! Here you go:

Bj Pangilinan

“BJ” – Guitarist – Dymphna, MadeByMachina, SUPREMACY, Emwaseur

1.If you chanced upon a time machine and used it to meet your 15-year-old self, what would you tell yourself and why?

“Ayaw’g panikas. Bisag unsa pa na nga form of cheating, ayaw jud.” everything turned out fine in a way sa karon. I just can’t help but wonder what if I didn’t.

2. If you could be a virtuoso at any musical instrument, what would it be?

The drums. Hitting stuff is fun.

3.What movie did you watch recently?

Okja. It’s about this young girl living with her grandfather and their gigantic super pig named Okja up in the mountains of South Korea. It’s a feel good movie.

4. Who’s your celebrity crush and why?

Ashley Gosiengfiao. She sings and plays the guitar for her band Midnight Meetings, and she’s also a hardcore gamer.

5. If you were to make a biopic of yourself, who would you want to portray you?

Johnny Simmons. The guy who played Young Neil in Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

6. What do you find yourself doing a lot these days?

I don’t go out much (like seriously), so I play a lot of games on my PC whenever I’m not busy with anything. Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to name a few.

7. What’s your current obsession?

I watched this documentary on Netflix called ‘Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things’. I’m trying to adapt to the lifestyle. It’s kinda hard, but I’m slowly getting there.

8.What do you predict will happen a year from now?

Either manambok ko’g maayo or mao ra gihapon akong lawas kay wa’y kwenta akong diet kunohay.

9. What’s one thing you can never live without?

My metal guitar pick. It was a gift. It’s been with me for about 10 years now as of writing. I don’t actually use it when I play the guitar because it feels like crap, but I panic every time I misplace it. It just has great sentimental value.
